It is easy for many people to argue that the Miller House is the finest modern home ever constructed in the state. It is without a doubt a property that must be experienced in person and from all angles. The journey seems fruitless as you pass through a dismal vinyl clad subdivision before turning onto a small country lane that winds through Kentucky’s bucolic fields. Finally, the Miller Houses rises up at 832 Lochmere Place!

This architecturally significant home was designed by Jose Oubrerie (an understudy of Le Corbusier) . Sold to a developer and later vandalized, the Miller House faced an uncertain future. Thankfully, an outside group of architects stepped in and arranged to purchase the property. It is now fully restored and destined to be the centerpiece in a new development geared around houses with a mid century modern and modern mindset as well as LEED certification environmental sensibilities .

The Miller House is currently being used for public gatherings. Read more about this great property here.

Kentucky has many geodesic domes, but this one at 6 Sanctuary Lane in Clarkson ranks as one of the most interesting. Its massive scale and proximity to Nolin Lake make it a great choice for those who need lots of space and enjoy outdoor activities. It is well-situated and an easy commute to Elizabethtown, Fort Knox and even Louisville. With great views, over 3500 square feet of living space, and boat slip access, this Buckminster Fuller inspired home is currently on the market.
