UFO House at 430 Mt Tabor Road, Lexington KYThe two-story house on the corner of Mt. Tabor Road and Kasey Court remains one of the most controversial structures in Lexington. Dubbed the “UFO House” by many Lexingtonians, it was in jeopardy of being razed on several occasions.

It was the brainchild of developer P.M. Combs but was lost in bankruptcy while still unfinished. The property was purchased by a real estate agent who intended to finish the project started by Combs. Shortly after purchase, the home was vandalized and set on fire. It was then sold to the current owner in 1989 for $25,000. By 1991, the vacant property remained unfinished and in disrepair with gaping holes and broken windows. Neighbors and a local councilman attempted to have the property condemned claiming it was an eyesore and violated building codes, but this proved unsuccessful. It is unknown if the house has ever been occupied. From the outside it does appear relatively finished.
